So the honour has been bestowed upon you to organize your best mates Bucks Party. You’re chuffed you’ve been asked but you’re bricking it at the prospect of organizing this monster of a boys event.
You want it to be epic, a night that is packed full of banter and becomes a legendary tale of drunken antics that even Hefner in his heyday would be proud of.
But, save asking your girlfriend to organize it for you, you’ve got no idea how you’re going to knit all of the Bucks night Ideas together to make it happen.
Well read on my friend. We’re about to make your life a whole lot easier…
1. Set the Date
Sounds obvious but this is often overlooked or left too late. Determine the wedding date and work backwards. Leave at least 4 weeks between the wedding and the bucks. The groom may want another more low key event on the week leading up to the event but keep the main bucks event well ahead of the wedding.
Get together with the Groom and pin down a list of 2-3 dates that works for the Bucks party. Also make a list of names and email addresses for the Bucks guest-list. And finally get an idea of the style of Bucks he’s looking for i.e. XXX rated cruise, tasteful golfing and beer tasting weekend, pub crawl, action-adventure weekend etc. etc.
Note it’s important to be prepared - It’s best to start planning the Bucks 6-12 weeks before the Bucks night. This ensures you get access to the best in venues, entertainment and transport. Leave it late and risk paying a premium to find what you want.
2. Get the Groomsman together
Don’t go it alone! Get the groomsman together and lean on them to help in getting the Bucks organized. Once you have a feel for what the groom wants in his Bucks Party start making enquiries with Bucks Party Planners to assist you in putting it all together including Bucks Party Venues, Bucks Entertainment, Transport and Special Requests. Get a feel for pricing so you can establish a budget per person.
Create a whatsapp or messenger group where you can keep in touch with each-other throughout the Bucks Planning Process.
3. Create the invite list
Setup the email chain with all invited guests and offer up the dates available for the Bucks and approx. cost per person. Set a deadline for responses so you can keep up the momentum. Once the date has been settled and RSVP’s are in reconfirm with the groom and finalise the guest-list.
4. Take Deposits and Book the Bucks Package
Finalise the guest numbers and Bucks package with your Bucks party planner and pay the deposits to book in and secure the event. Get commitment from the guys early on by requesting a small deposit to secure the spot for the night. This avoids the last minute scurrying around for confirmations.
Make sure you’ve covered off on the finer details – transport throughout the night, food, drinks packages, specific activity requirements, timings etc. etc.
5. Send out the details and reminders
2-weeks before the Bucks send out a reminder to your email guest-list with details of the celebration, include meet points, timings, key contacts, the need to know’s, any clothing requirements etc. etc. (Note a good Bucks Party Planner will do this for you).
And all that’s left is to show up on the day with a bucket load of energy at the right place and the right time to relish in the glory of organizing the BEST bucks on record!
