Doltone House Ballroom, Hyde Park

We Love:

The magnificent grandeur and opulence of the Doltone House Hyde Park Ballroom.  Guests are invited into this unique Sydney venue via a magnificent spiral staircase with cascading overhead crystal chandelier. Upon entering the ballroom, the lavish design style envelopes you the moment the grand doors open, featuring the unmistakable black and gold interiors, panelled walls, stone mantelpiece and Edwardian style windows drawing your eyes across Hyde Park. 

What's Unique:

The ornate design and style of the Doltone House ballroom is certainly one of the most spectacular in Sydney. It would also be remiss not to mention the diversity and creativity of the Doltone menu which offers banquet and cocktail menu’s plus grazing stations and novelty catering options including giant paella pans, nutella dessert buffets and even donut walls!

Venue Considerations:

The styling and furnishings are supremely grandiose and opulent. If you’re planning to indulge guests in a lavish affair without sizeable event theming and styling spend, it’s one of the best choice of function venues in Sydney. However do consider if the bold black, white and gold colour palette of the ballroom is suitable for your unique event concept, and take care not to over embellish or compete with the design elements of the space.

Size: 650 guests for cocktail receptions and 500 guests for banquets. Ballroom can be subdivided for smaller events.

Four Seasons Ballroom, Circular Quay

We Love:

The Four Seasons Ballroom Sydney, relaunched during late 2017 following a major renovation, and the result is magnificent. The pillarless ballroom masterfully infuses modern style with timeless elegant design and the latest event technologies. Art-Deco-inspired chandeliers adorn the ceiling, soft cream wall panelling and luxe furnishings create a sense of timeless elegance in the space. This Ballroom in Sydney is truly a blank canvas, ripe for bringing your dream event to life. 

What’s Unique:

Quite simply put - The new mega screen. The 12-mtr wide x 3.5-mtr wide screen with 4K video and hi res imagery is one of the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and simply staggering to behold. 

Venue Considerations:

The Four Seasons Ballroom does not come equipped with an outdoor space. However the ballroom is conveniently located on the ground floor of the hotel, and guests may take fresh air in front of the lobby, in perfect sight of the best of Sydney Harbour views across Circular Quay to the Opera House.

Size: 1000 guests for cocktail receptions and 520 guests for seated banquets. Ballroom can be subdivided for smaller events.

Shangri La Ballroom, The Rocks

We Love:

The subtle reference to Sydney’s iconic landmarks in the wave-like motifs adorning the ceilings and walls, and the aboriginal artwork in the pre-function area. The venue space exudes a contemporary, majestic quality backed by attentive Shangri-La hospitality. The complimentary crystal candelabra table centrepieces are an elegant touch to the banquet tables. Plus free wifi throughout the hotel is a welcome offering to guests.

What’s Unique:

The four elliptical crystal chandeliers featuring over 2000 glowing crystal rods are quite simply breathtaking. Adjust the colour and contrast to suit the unique colour palette of your event.

Venue Considerations:

Shangri La has been described as a place of beauty and harmony…isolated from the outside world. There is a sense of calmness and serenity that washes over you when entering the venue, and sets the tone throughout the hotel. Consider if this ambience is the right fit for your Corporate function.

Size: 850 guests for cocktail receptions and 500 guests for banquets. Ballroom can be subdivided for smaller events.

Luna Park Crystal Ballroom, Sydney North Shore

We Love:

The fun, playful setting of the Luna Park Crystal Ballroom, located amongst the bright lights and ferris wheels of the Luna park attractions, complete with panoramic Sydney Harbour views. When entering the waterside ballroom, the towering glass windows flood the space with natural light. The large mezzanine level overlooking the main floor is also a unique feature of this space.

What’s Unique:

This unique waterside venue in Sydney not only provides sweeping harbour views, but also offers an outdoor deck area perfect for waterfront cocktail and canapes, plus guests may also be treated to VIP arrival via chartered catamaran to the adjacent dock.

Venue Considerations:

The Crystal Ballroom venue is set in the Luna park amusement park. This of course adds an extra layer of interest, fun and excitement to the celebrations. However consider if this setting is in keeping with your event purpose and messaging.

Size: 1,300 guests for cocktail receptions and 848 guests for banquets (Grand and Crystal Ballrooms Combined). Ballrooms can be subdivided for smaller events.

Ivy Ballroom, Sydney CBD

We Love:

The statement extravagance and glamour of the Ivy Ballroom, centrally located in the heart of Sydney CBD, replete with lavish interiors featuring oversized chandeliers, bold black and white geometric print carpet and floor to ceiling windows.  The accompanying garden terrace is an added bonus.

What’s Unique:

The Ivy ballroom is located within the wider Merivale entertainment complex on George Street, providing ample opportunity for post function drinks and dining on your very doorstep!

Venue Considerations:

There is such a wealth of bars, restaurants and entertainment available within the wider complex in which the Ivy ballroom sits, the temptation is great for guests to sneak out and see what’s on offer! 

Size: 1,000 guests for cocktail receptions and 400 guests for seated banquets. 


Sofitel Magnifique Ballroom, Darling Harbour

We Love:

The prize position of the new Magnifique Ballroom located amongst the spectacular sights of Sydney’s iconic Darling Harbour from the Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour Ballroom. Officially the first five star hotel opening in Sydney since the 2000 Olympics, the Sofitel is already cementing it’s reputation as one of the most glamorous hotels in Sydney.

What’s Unique:

On approach to the hotel at night, guests will be greeted to a spectacular external lighting display with over 6000 LED lights sweeping across the Darling Harbour facing facade. The hotel also boasts the largest champagne bar in Sydney with over 20 different types of champagne. Perfect for a post event toast with your guests!
